Discussion Questions, 9/9/12
1. What should we conclude from the emphasis throughout Luke's gospel that religious people were offended by Jesus while notorious sinners were welcomed and received by Him?
2. What are some similarities and differences between Simon and the sinful woman? Can you see yourself in either (or at times, both) of them?
3. What is the underlying reason Jesus mentions in this passage for why love for Him might be lukewarm? How do we practically, on a daily basis, reorient your heart on the truths the cancelling of your sin debt by Jesus' work on the cross?
4. "There is nowhere a more wretched and miserable sinner than I"? Do you sincerely believe that? If so, what are the implications for your relationship with God, with other believers, and with the lost people around you that you are called to reach for Jesus' sake?
