Discussion Questions, 1/6/13
1. As a church, we want the reflection of Jesus that we present to be increasingly clear and vivid. Why is that important? How does the issue in this passage -- welcoming others -- affect the picture of Jesus we present?
2. What is Paul's overarching goal in this passage? Why is it important to keep that goal in mind always?
3. What has been your experience of being welcomed into Joy Community Fellowship? What is your reaction to the "reports" that were shared in the message? What are some tangible ways you can demonstrate the welcome of Jesus to those who are new and/or disconnected in the church?
4. What is grace-driven, Spirit-empowered, faith-fueled, effort, and how does it differ from just trying harder? How does Paul motivate in this passage?
