Discussion Questions, 1/27/13

1. What are indicatives and imperatives? Why is it important to understand the difference as we think about living the Christian life?

2. As you think about "the Church", how central in your thinking is our identity as a sent people? 

3. In light of the great global need that there is for workers, why do you think so few sermons on this text address the subject of the unreached?

4. As it pertains to the unreached, the three options are: go, send, or disobey. Do you agree?  How is God calling you personally, and us as a group, to engage in the mission of God globally?

5. Read through Luke 10:1-20 as a group.  What practical helps are given for understanding how to go about our mission, whether locally or globally?

6. Do you expect living the Christian life to be safe?  How does this passage adjust our expectations?  What are some ways that living for Christ might be dangerous in our local context?  How does Jesus strengthen our resolve to go into the harvest despite the threat of danger?
