Discussion Questions -- 12/9/12

1. Read through Joshua 2 and discuss observations you have about the passage.

2. In what sense was Rahab "justified by her works"?  What does the sentence mean, "We are saved by faith alone, but the faith that saves never remains alone"?  What are some ways that you have seen a change in your life since your coming to faith in Christ?

3. What is your reaction to the story of William Borden?  What do you think "a life that cannot be explained apart from faith in Christ" looks like in your context?

4. Think of a sin that you tend to struggle with.  If what we do/how we live flows out of what we believe, what specific truth(s) are you failing to believe about God in the moment of that struggle?

5. In what ways does faith look backwards to the past, and forwards to the future?  What is the connection between the two?  Spend some time encouraging one another in faith by sharing ways in which you have experienced God's faithfulness over the past year.
