Our Sunday School classes for the Fall Semester will run from September 13th through November 22nd starting at 9:00am. Our courses are a series of informative, interactive, and challenging classes that are meant to help you in your Christian walk. Promiseland, our children's ministry for Kindergarten through fourth grade, also runs at this time in the Firehouse.
Sunday School Classes:
Adults:
Class 1: Old Testament Survey
Location: Hope House (Kitchen side)
Description: The Old Testament was all of the Scripture that existed in Jesus' day. It is full of glory, yet it often proves challenging in our studies. In this class we will attempt to answer a few questions: How did the Old Testament come to be? What are the different genres in the OT, and how do we rightly study and apply them in our own lives? How do we read the OT in light of the New Testament? How is Jesus seen in all of the OT Scriptures?
Teachers: Sam Gaston, Kyle Gillam, Jason Tyrell
Class 2: Theology of Work
Location: Church Basement
Description: Work is a good gift from God, instituted before the fall. Yet in this broken world, work is difficult and oftentimes appears fruitless. What is the Lord's view of work? How has work been broken? How can believers in Christ glorify the Lord in all of the labor he calls us to? This class will explore those questions and more, as we seek to be salt and light wherever the Lord has us.
Teachers: Jeff Crispin, Mike Holmes, Frank Lettko, Rob Miles, Craig Smith, Carmen Trifiletti
Youth Classes:
Grades 5th-12th
Class: Galatians
Location: Hope House (non-kitchen side)
Description: There is only one true gospel! This is the burden of the Apostle Paul as he lovingly admonishes the church at Galatia. Our youth will spend the semester considering the glories of the gospel and its implications for our lives as they study the book of Galatians together.
Teachers: Trey Filby, Mike Durr, Kyle Gillam, Jeff Crispin
