Visiting Joy Community Fellowship

Thanks for visiting our site; we hope it helps you to learn a little bit more about who we are and what we are passionate about.   We'd love to have you join us for our Sunday morning gathering, at 10:00 AM. Click here for directions to our building, located at 309 Florence Avenue in Pitman.  Note also:  our church is handicapped accessible.

Nursery care is available for infants through 4 year olds throughout both of the Sunday gatherings.  Promiseland, our children's ministry, serves our kids (K-5th grade) at the first service only.  You are also welcome to have your kids of any age stay with you during our gatherings.  We believe the presence of kids is a blessing, not a distraction, to our worship times! We are a community of people who delight in God's grace. When you visit us, we hope you will find us to be...

A joyful church.  God has done great things for us in and through the work of Christ, and we are glad!  Because we trust in Christ who died and rose again to save us from God's just wrath for our sins, we now "rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory" (1 Peter 1:8).

A serious church. Scripture says, "Rejoice with trembling" (Psalm 2:11), and the gospel makes this possible. We take the worship of God seriously, with careful attention given to the reading and preaching of Scripture, and the expression of our dependence on the Holy Spirit through prayer.  Our typical practice is to preach through books of the Bible on Sunday mornings (we're currently studying the Gospel of Luke).

A loving church family. God's love has been lavished on us in Jesus Christ, and through His Holy Spirit, God's love is poured out in our hearts toward one another. We want you to experience the love of Christ among us, so we hope you'll feel welcomed by our church family. Come as you are. You'll notice some folks who like to dress up for church and others who don't. Feel free to wear what's comfortable for you, and you'll fit right in.

A church that is centered on the gospel. Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead so that we can be justified (declared righteous) in the presence of a holy God. This is the gospel. As a church, we strive to never move on from this glorious gospel - only into a deeper and more profound understanding of it. So the songs we sing are focused on the gospel; the sermons we preach are all intended to take us deeper into the gospel; and the new life we live is motivated by the gospel.

As precious as Sunday mornings are to us, we believe that "church" is not mainly a meeting you attend or a building you go to.  Church is a people, saved and knit together by God's grace, united in Christ's mission of making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).  Our Life Groups are primary to our strategy for being discipled and making disciples of Jesus.  They are the main way in which we experience what it means to the church.  So please check out the Life Group page  to get some more information on what Life Groups are and what our vision is for them.

Again, thanks for visiting our site, and please feel free to contact us at info@joycf.org if we can answer any questions you have about our church, or serve you in any way.
